CBSE 12th Result 2026: Deadline Extended to Obtain Scanned Copies of CBSE Class 12 Exam Answer Sheets; Apply by May 23
CBSE has extended the deadline to obtain scanned copies of the evaluated answer sheets for the Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. Providing relief to students in light of technical glitches encountered on its website, the Board has set the new deadline for applications as May 23, 2026.
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the final date for obtaining scanned copies of the evaluated answer sheets for the Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. According to a circular issued by the Board, the decision to grant students additional time to apply was taken in view of the technical difficulties experienced on the website.
CBSE stated that students can now apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets until May 23, 2026. Previously, this deadline was May 22, 2026. A notification issued by CBSE stated that students may avail themselves of this extended timeframe. The Board clarified that all other terms and conditions will remain applicable as before.
What Appeal Did the CBSE Board Make to Students?
The CBSE Board has appealed to students and parents to take advantage of this additional time and complete the application process within the stipulated period. CBSE also clarified that all other terms and conditions regarding the receipt of scanned copies will continue to apply as they did previously.
What is the Fee for Scanned Copies?
It is worth noting that every year, following the announcement of Board examination results, CBSE provides students with facilities such as obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets, verification of marks, and re-evaluation. Through these services, students can gain insight into the evaluation process of their answer sheets; furthermore, if they suspect any errors, they can apply for subsequent remedial procedures. Previously, students were required to pay a fee ranging from ₹600 to ₹700 annually to obtain these scanned copies. However, the fee charged for this service has now been reduced to just ₹100.
Why are these steps being taken?
Meanwhile, education experts believe that this decision to extend the deadline is in the best interest of the students. The rationale cited for this is that, due to technical glitches, many students were unable to submit their applications within the stipulated timeframe. Consequently, the provision of additional time will come as a relief to the students. The CBSE has advised students to carefully read the guidelines available on the Board's official website before applying, and to ensure that they provide accurate information during the application process and submit the prescribed fees on time.
