The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 12 results shortly. It is anticipated that the results will be declared during the second or third week of this month. Once the results are released, the more than 1.8 million students who appeared for the examination will be able to check their scores and download their digital mark sheets on the official CBSE websites: cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in. The CBSE Class 12 examinations were conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026.

Based on trends observed in previous years, the CBSE Class 12 results are likely to be declared in the third week of May. This timeline has also been indicated by the CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj. Last year—in 2025—CBSE released the Class 12 results on May 13, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.39%. Similarly, in 2024, the results were released on May 13, while in 2023, they were declared on May 12.

**On-Screen Marking System**
For this academic year, CBSE has introduced an on-screen marking system, under which answer sheets are evaluated digitally on a computer screen. The objective of this new marking system is to enhance the transparency and accuracy of the evaluation process, thereby significantly reducing the risk of manual errors.

**Students Scoring Less Than 33% Will Fail**
According to CBSE regulations, to pass the Class 12 examination, students are required to secure a minimum of 33 percent marks in each individual subject. It is mandatory to obtain a minimum of 33 percent marks in both the theory and practical components. A student is considered to have failed if they score less than this minimum threshold in any subject. In terms of the grading system, grades ranging from 'A' to 'D' are considered passing grades, whereas an 'E' grade signifies a failure in that specific subject. In such a situation, students may have to appear for a compartment examination or retake the exam the following year.
