CBSE 12th Exam Cancelled: CBSE Class 12 Exams Completely Cancelled in Middle Eastern Countries, Find Out How Results Will Now Be Compiled..
CBSE 12th Exam Cancelled: The conflict brewing between Iran and the US-Israel alliance is having an impact on students as well. The CBSE Board has completely cancelled the Class 12 examinations for students studying in its affiliated schools across the Middle Eastern countries. The Board had previously announced the postponement of examinations scheduled from March 12 to March 14. Now, the Board has stated that all examinations scheduled up to April 10 have been cancelled. This circular has been issued specifically for CBSE-affiliated schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the circular, the Board reviewed the situation in reference to the circulars issued on March 1, 2026, as well as on March 3, March 5, March 7, and March 9. The feasibility of conducting examinations in the affected countries was carefully considered, and a final decision was reached based on suggestions and requests received from the respective schools and local authorities.
Previously Postponed Exams Also Cancelled
CBSE has now announced that all Class 12 Board examinations scheduled from March 16 to April 10 have been cancelled for students studying in these Middle Eastern countries. Furthermore, those examinations that had been previously postponed have also been cancelled in their entirety. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students, the gravity of the prevailing circumstances, and the prospects for the smooth conduct of the examinations.
How Will the Results Be Prepared?
According to the circular issued by the Board's Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, students in the Middle Eastern countries will be notified separately regarding the process for the issuance of their results. This implies that detailed guidelines regarding how the students' results will be compiled—and on what basis marks will be awarded to them—will be issued at a later date.
Passed Without Exams During the COVID Pandemic
Previously, during the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE had similarly passed students without conducting examinations. For that purpose, the Board had utilized a special evaluation methodology. This included internal assessments, marks from previous classes, and scores for practical subjects and projects. To ensure that there were no significant disparities in the marks awarded by schools, the CBSE implemented a moderation system. This helped maintain balanced results across all schools.
