How were the results this time? How many students passed?

According to the Board's statistics, 24.71 lakh students appeared for the examination this year, with 23.16 lakh students successfully clearing it. The overall pass percentage was recorded at 93.70%, marking a slight increase over the 93.66% recorded in the previous year (2025). This indicates a marginal improvement of 0.04% in the results this time around. Meanwhile, approximately 1.55 lakh students were unable to pass the examination.

Girls Once Again Outshine Boys in Board Examinations

As has been the trend every year, girls once again delivered a superior performance in the Board examinations. The pass percentage for female students stood at 94.99%, while that for male students was recorded at 92.69%. Additionally, the pass percentage for transgender students was recorded at 87.50%. Moreover, a significant number of students achieved high scores in this year's examinations. According to the Board, 221,574 students secured marks of 90 percent or higher. Meanwhile, 55,368 students achieved scores exceeding 95 percent, reflecting the year's top-tier performance.

Which regions of the country performed the best?

In terms of region-wise performance, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada led the pack, recording a pass percentage of 99.79 percent. Chennai followed closely behind. The Delhi region posted an overall pass percentage of over 97 percent, while Guwahati recorded the lowest percentage this time around. Regarding institutions, Kendriya Vidyalayas delivered the best results, with 99.57 percent of their students passing; similarly, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas also performed exceptionally well, achieving a pass percentage of over 99 percent. The performance of both private and government schools also remained above the 90 percent mark.

How does this year's result compare to the last five years?

A look at the trends over the past five years reveals that the CBSE results have consistently hovered around the 93 to 94 percent range. In 2025, the CBSE Class 10 Board result stood at 93.66 percent. In 2024, this figure was 93.60 percent. Furthermore, the pass percentage was 93.12 percent in 2023, 94.40 percent in 2022, and 99.04 percent in 2021. The year 2021 saw a departure from the standard evaluation method due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a factor that led to a significant surge in the pass percentage.
