Careers After 12th: Once the Class 12 results are declared, most students begin planning for their future. BASLP is one such emerging career option. This course specializes in students in the field of treating and providing therapy for hearing and speech-related disorders. Through BASLP, students become qualified to work in critical fields such as Audiology and Speech Therapy.

**Who is a BASLP Professional?**
An Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist is a trained healthcare professional who evaluates, diagnoses, manages, and provides rehabilitation for issues related to hearing, speech, language, voice, swallowing, and balance. They play a pivotal role in patient rehabilitation by collaborating with ENT specialists, neurologists, pediatricians, and special educators.

**Key Responsibilities**
The primary responsibilities of a BASLP professional include conducting hearing tests, performing speech and language assessments, and selecting and fitting hearing aids and other assistive devices. They provide therapy for speech delays and autism in children, as well as speech rehabilitation for adults following a stroke or brain injury; they also treat voice disorders and stuttering. Furthermore, they manage balance-related issues and tinnitus, work in special schools and rehabilitation centers, and provide counseling to parents and caregivers.

**Ensure the Institute is Recognized**
To gain admission into the BASLP program, a student must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their core subjects. Admission should strictly be sought only at institutes recognized by the RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India), as it is not possible to practice in this field without RCI registration. The total duration of this course is four years, comprising three years of academic study and one year of mandatory clinical internship.
