These colleges not only focus on good studies but also practical training and research. Many of the best institutions in India, from AIIMS Delhi to Christian Medical College, Vellore, are known for their infrastructure, faculty, and good reputation for nursing studies.
How to get admission?
For B.Sc Nursing, one must have at least 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 12th. Many colleges give admission on the basis of 12th marks only, but some big and good colleges give admission through entrance exams. These include exams like KCET, AP EAMCET, JENPAS UG, TS EAMCET, NEET, and CUET. However, NEET UG is not mandatory for all colleges.

AIIMS Delhi: BSc Nursing is a 4-year course in AIIMS Delhi. According to the official website, there are about 77 seats here. For admission, one has to give the NEET UG exam. The tuition fee is about 600 rupees, and the hostel fee is 480 rupees per year.
PGIMER Chandigarh: This college in Chandigarh offers courses like BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post Basic). For admission here, it is necessary to pass 10th and 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Age should be between 17 and 25 years. Admission is done through an entrance exam, which is held in June.
Christian Medical College, Vellore: This college, built in 1946, is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Apart from BSc Nursing, there are many other medical courses here. The special thing is that students also get scholarships here. The annual tuition fee for the 4-year course is Rs 810. There are slight changes in the fees.
NIMHANS, Bangalore: This college focuses more on mental health and neuroscience. The total fee for the BSc Nursing course here is Rs 1.4 lakh, of which Rs 20,000 is the tuition fee. Here, a lot of emphasis is given on the practical training of the students.
Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER): This institute, located in Puducherry, offers a 4-year BSc Nursing course, which has a total of 94 seats. Admission here is done on the basis of NEET UG score. A 24-week internship is also mandatory in the last year of the course. The annual fee here is around Rs 5,760.
