This initiative was first launched by French President Emmanuel Macron in January 2024 during his visit to Jaipur. The President had set a target of 30,000 students from India getting an education in France by 2030. This is an ambitious plan.

'Classes International' is a great opportunity for Indian students to get admission to the prestigious education system of France. To join this program, students will first have to undergo a year of intensive language training and academic preparation. After this, they can get admission to graduate programs taught in French. It aims to help students cross the walls of language and culture. So that they can take full advantage of the education system of France.

French Ambassador to India Dr. Thierry Mathu said that this initiative strengthens the educational relationship between India and France. Not only this, it is promoting cultural exchange. More than 30 leading institutions in France are involved in this program. In these, students can study in many fields like arts, engineering, social science, and designing. After completing this program, students can get admission in more than 200 courses taught in the French language.

Many universities and institutes in France also offer apprenticeship programs. Where students can get professional experience along with their studies. In these programs, companies not only pay salaries to the students but also cover their tuition fees.

The French government supports the 'Classes International' program. Campus France and the French Embassy assist students throughout their educational journey. 31 March 2025: For students with no prior knowledge of French language. 15 May 2025: For students with French proficiency of A2 level or above.
