A new sector is rapidly emerging in India, offering abundant job opportunities across various domains; however, a lack of awareness often prevents people from applying or even accessing these roles. Against this backdrop, we held a special conversation with Lieutenant Colonel Monish Ahuja (Retd.)—founder of Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. (PRESPL) and a prominent entrepreneur in the bio-energy sector—during the Bioenergy Global Conference 2026 held at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, Delhi.

He highlighted that the bio-energy sector is growing at a rapid pace and requires a diverse range of experts. The Government of India has announced plans to set up a total of 5,000 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants across the country. With 200 plants already established, the sheer scale of work ahead is immense. Consequently, there are vast opportunities for individuals in this sector, yet many fail to enter it due to a lack of information.
