The NEET Re-Exam 2026 has concluded. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026—which had been cancelled following a paper leak—was successfully and peacefully conducted on June 21. Over 2.2 million (22 lakh) candidates participated in the exam, whereas there are fewer than 150,000 (1.5 lakh) MBBS seats available in the country. However, a NEET score is mandatory for admission into various medical courses, including BAMS, BHMS, and nursing. Consequently, while most candidates aim for a high score in NEET UG, a large number fail to secure an MBBS seat despite achieving good marks. Meanwhile, many others do not achieve a competitive score and, as a result, drop out of the system entirely.

Such candidates have better options this year; they can build a career in the medical sector without a NEET score. For instance, candidates have the opportunity to secure admission to excellent medical courses based on their Class 12 marks. Let us understand the details of this matter.

**Get admission to 13 allied healthcare courses—such as Physiotherapy—without a NEET score**
Admission can be secured in a total of 13 courses without a NEET score. These are allied healthcare courses regulated by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP). Let us take a look at what these courses are. Physiotherapy (BPT)

**Admission via NEET scores was scheduled to begin this year; the decision was ultimately deferred**

Admissions for these 13 allied health courses—regulated by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP)—were originally slated to be based on NEET-UG scores starting this year. Although an official notification regarding this had been issued, a revised notification released in March clarified that admission to allied health courses like BPT and BOT based on NEET-UG scores would not be feasible for the 2026-27 academic session; the implementation has been postponed to the 2027-28 academic year. This means the current year is the last opportunity to secure admission to these courses without a NEET score. Admissions this year can still be conducted at the university level based on Class 12 marks.
