BPSC Clerk Mains Syllabus: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the detailed syllabus of the main competitive examination to be held for appointment to the vacant posts of lower class clerk in the commission office located in Patna under Advertisement No.-43/2025. This syllabus has been uploaded on the official website of the commission bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

The commission has informed that all the successful candidates found eligible based on category-wise minimum qualifying marks in the main (objective) examination will be called for typing and computer test.

BPSC Lower Class Clerk Main Exam: The Exam will be held in two papers

There will be a total of two question papers in the lower class clerk main examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The first question paper will be on the Hindi subject, which will have 100 questions and 4 marks will be given for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. At least 30% marks are required to pass this paper. The second question paper will be of general knowledge, which will have 150 questions. In this also, 4 marks will be awarded for the correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. The duration of both papers will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Pattern and Syllabus of Hindi Question Paper

Secondary (10th) level questions will be asked in the Hindi question paper. It will include questions related to sentence structure, nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, sandhi, synonym-antonym, idioms, proverbs, and grammar. The purpose of this paper is to test the candidate's understanding of the Hindi language and correct expression ability.

Syllabus of General Knowledge

The General Knowledge paper will have three parts. The first part will have questions related to general studies and current topics such as science progress, awards, languages, sports, history, geography, constitution, Panchayati Raj, and national movement. The second part will have questions of general science and mathematics, which will include topics of physics, chemistry, biology, geography, and mathematics such as percentage, average, ratio, profit-loss, interest, etc.

Mental Ability and Reasoning Test
The third part will test the logical ability and mental aptitude of the candidate. It will include questions related to analogies, difference-in-sameness, problem solving, spatial arrangement, arithmetical reasoning, coding-decoding, number series and non-verbal reasoning.
