The Bihar Public Service Commission has released the results of the 71st preliminary exam. A total of 14,261 candidates passed the exam. Of these, 13,368 candidates qualified for the General Administrative Services, while 893 candidates qualified for the Financial Administrative Officer position.
Approximately 4.71 lakh candidates had applied for this examination. Out of these, approximately 3.57 lakh candidates downloaded the admit card and 3.16 lakh candidates appeared in the examination. The examination was conducted at 912 examination centres in Bihar. As per attendance, approximately 64.3% candidates appeared in the examination.

This time, the cutoffs have also been released. The cutoff for the General category was 88 marks, for the EWS category 82.33 marks, for the Backward Class category 84 marks, for the Extremely Backward Class category 81 marks, for the Scheduled Caste category 72 marks, and for the Scheduled Tribe category 71.33 marks. The number of candidates who scored more than 100 marks in this exam is reported to be 211.
After the results are released, the recruitment process for 1298 posts will proceed. The next stage will be the main examination, for which the BPSC will announce the date soon.
The main examination will be conducted in three subjects.
General Hindi (100 marks) – This will be a qualifying paper and its marks will not be counted in the merit list. Candidates will need to score at least 30 marks to pass.
General Studies 1 (300 marks)
General Studies 2 (300 marks)
Optional Subject (300 marks)
All papers will be long-answer type, and each exam is scheduled for 3 hours. Candidates who have passed the preliminary exam should now begin preparing for the main exam, as the competition is expected to be fierce.

- First, visit the BPSC's official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
- On the home page, you will see a link titled "BPSC 71st Prelims Result" or "Result."
- Click on it.
- Once the link opens, a PDF file will download.
- Type your roll number in the search box.
- If your roll number is in the PDF, you have passed the preliminary exam.
