The Bihar Public Service Commission has released the results of the 71st Preliminary Examination. 13,368 candidates passed the examination. Additionally, 893 candidates were also successful for the position of Financial Administrative Officer, bringing the total number of successful candidates to 14,261.

In this regard, BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that approximately 4.71 lakh candidates applied for the 71st Preliminary Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission, of which approximately 3.57 lakh candidates downloaded admit cards. Approximately 3.16 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. Candidates can check their results by clicking on http://bpsc.bihar.gov.in/. The examination was conducted at 912 examination centers across Bihar, representing a total of 3.16 lakh candidates, representing 64.3% of the total candidates. Following the results, recruitment will now be conducted for 1,298 posts.

In this regard, BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that the cut-off for the general category was 88 points, while the cut-off for the economically weaker sections was 82.33 points. The cut-off for Scheduled Castes was 72 points, while the cut-off for Scheduled Tribes was 71.33 points. The cut-off for Extremely Backward Classes was 81 points, and the cut-off for Backward Classes was 84 points. The number of candidates who scored above 100 points was 211.

In this regard, BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that after the results of the 71st Preliminary Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission are released, the main examination will be conducted. However, the date for the main examination has not yet been finalized. Regarding the main examination, he stated that the examination will be conducted in three subjects, including one paper on language (General Hindi). This paper will carry 100 marks, but its marks will not be counted in the result. Furthermore, candidates must pass this paper; otherwise their other papers will not be evaluated.

As per the Commission's instructions, candidates must score 30 marks in this paper. Candidates should be aware that all questions in this subject are long-answer type. The second paper will be General Studies, known as GS 1 and GS 2. Each paper will carry 300 marks, with all questions being long-answer type. The third and final paper, called Optional Subject, will also carry 300 marks. All questions in this paper will also be long-answer type. The exam for each subject will be 3 hours long.
