In the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), a total of 13,368 candidates qualified for the Mains CCE, and a separate 893 were successful for the Financial Administrative Officer (FAO) post. A total of 14,261 candidates will appear for the Mains exam. These recruitments are being conducted for a total of 1,298 posts, including DSP and SDM positions.
BPSC 71st Prelims Result 2025: What was the cutoff?

The Preliminary exam was just a GATE pass; the actual exam will be held now. Candidates who pass the Preliminary exam will now have to appear for the Mains exam. The Mains date hasn't been finalized yet, but the BPSC will release a notification soon. Usually, the Mains exam is held 1-2 months after the Preliminary results, so this exam could be held in December or January.
How many papers are there in the Mains?
The Mains exam of the 71st Combined Competitive Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will have a total of three papers. All will be descriptive, meaning written answers. The first paper will be General Hindi, carrying 100 marks, but its marks will not be counted in the final merit list. Passing is essential. You must score at least 30 marks on this paper; otherwise, the remaining papers will not be checked. All questions will be long-answer questions. The second paper will be GS-1 (General Studies), carrying 300 marks. The third paper will be GS-2, also carrying 300 marks. The fourth paper will be an optional subject, selected when applying.
