BPSC AEDO Exam Postponed, New Date Awaited
The Bihar Public Service Commission has postponed the written examination for the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) under advertisement number 87/2025. The exam was scheduled to be held between January 10 and January 16, 2026 (excluding January 14). The commission issued a notice stating that the exam has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The new exam date will be announced later on the official BPSC website.
A total of 9.7 lakh candidates were expected to appear for this recruitment examination. Due to the large number of applications, this recruitment is considered a new record in the history of BPSC.
Recruitment for 935 Posts
A total of 935 posts are to be filled under the BPSC AEDO recruitment. Of these, 374 posts are for the unreserved category. 93 posts are reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 150 for Scheduled Castes, 10 for Scheduled Tribes, 168 for Extremely Backward Classes, 112 for Backward Classes, and 28 for women of Backward Classes.
Selection Process and Salary
The selection process will consist of a single-stage written examination; there will be no interview. The exam will be an objective type, and negative marking will be applicable. One-third of a mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The exam will consist of three papers: General Language (English and Hindi), General Studies, and General Aptitude. Selected candidates will receive a salary of Rs. 29,200 per month under Level-5.
