BPSC 71st CCE Mains Exam Date: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the tentative dates for the main examination of the 71st Combined Competitive Examination. The main examination will be held on April 25, 2026. According to the official notice, the examination will be conducted from April 25 to April 30, 2026.
The commission has stated that the detailed schedule of the examination will be published later. Candidates who have qualified in the 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination will now appear for the main examination.
BPSC Main Examination Pattern
The BPSC 71st main examination consists of a total of five papers. These include the first paper in General Hindi, the second and third papers in General Studies (Paper-1 and Paper-2), the fourth paper in Essay, and the fifth paper in the optional subject chosen by the candidate. Each paper is of three hours duration, and the main examination is for a total of 1100 marks.
Preliminary Examination Held in September
A total of 4,71,012 candidates applied for the 71st preliminary examination, out of which 3,16,762 candidates appeared for the exam. The examination was held on September 13 at 912 examination centers across 37 districts of the state.
14,261 Candidates Qualified in the Preliminary Examination
A total of 14,261 candidates have been declared successful in the preliminary examination. Of these, 13,368 candidates have qualified in the general examination, while 893 candidates have cleared the preliminary examination for the post of Financial Administrative Officer. All the qualified candidates will now have to appear for the next stage of the recruitment process, i.e., the main examination.
This recruitment drive is for 1298 posts. Initially, the total vacancies were 1250, but 34 new posts have been added through an amendment to the advertisement, increasing the total number of posts to 1298.
