The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the results for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Main Examination 2026. Candidates who appeared for this recruitment examination can now view their results by visiting the Commission's official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in. According to the released results, Santosh Kumar has secured the first position, while Sarita Kumari and Rahul Raj Kumar have secured the second and third positions, respectively. A total of 609 candidates appeared for the Main Competitive Examination. Candidates are advised to carefully review the relevant information following the announcement of the results and to keep an eye on official notifications regarding the subsequent stages of the process.

Thirteen candidates with disabilities who appeared for the Main Competitive Examination were referred to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna for an assessment of their disability and to determine its percentage. The report received from the institute indicates that five candidates had a disability level of less than 40 percent. Additionally, six candidates did not appear for the assessment, meaning their disability status could not be evaluated. Consequently, these 11 candidates will not be eligible for benefits reserved for persons with disabilities. The roll numbers of these candidates are provided in the notification issued by the Commission. Candidates should consult the notice available on the official BPSC website for comprehensive details regarding the results.

BPSC ASO Merit List: How many candidates are included?
The BPSC has prepared a combined merit list of 594 candidates based on the marks obtained in the General Knowledge paper. Candidates have been ranked in this list according to their scores. The Commission has further clarified that in the event of a tie—where two candidates secure the same number of marks—the decision will be based on their age; the older candidate will be placed higher on the list. If both candidates are of the same age, priority will be given based on the alphabetical order of their names in the Devanagari script. This methodology has been used to determine the ranking in cases where candidates have secured identical marks.
