BLO Job Details: Is the job of a BLO really that difficult? Find out how much salary you receive..
BLO Job Details: After Bihar, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process has now begun across the country. The Election Commission has assigned significant responsibility to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of each booth. These BLOs will collect all the forms, verify them, and determine whether a person is a voter in that area or booth. These BLOs are in the news these days, with reports of suicides and reports of them quitting their jobs due to workload. All these reports are being linked to the SIR. So, today we'll tell you how challenging the BLO's job is and how much salary they receive for this work.
What is a BLO?
The BLO has likely rung your doorbell at some point. They are the person responsible for making your voter ID card. They are the lowest-level election officer. Each BLO is responsible for a booth. This means that the BLO is responsible for verifying all the people who come to vote at that booth, including their voter ID cards. Typically, primary school teachers or Anganwadi workers perform the duties of the BLO.
What does the BLO do?
The BLO visits every household to ensure that no one there does not have a voter card.
The BLO is also responsible for removing the names of those who have migrated or died from the voter list.
It is also the BLO's responsibility to prevent or report fraudulent voting.
Why is stress increasing?
The question now is, why is the BLO's job becoming so stressful? As we already mentioned, the BLO already has its own job and has to perform the BLO's duties alongside this. This is why this work can sometimes become extremely hectic, and the workload on the employees doubles. At SIR, these same BLOs are required to check people's forms and perform full verification. This has increased their workload significantly, causing many employees to feel stressed.
