Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has commenced the application process under the 'Board Toppers Admission Scheme 2026'. Through this scheme, students who have secured the first rank in various central and state education boards across the country can gain direct admission without needing a BITSAT score. Eligible candidates can apply online for the course of their choice.

The institute has set the application deadline for 5:00 PM on June 30, 2026. This scheme offers a special opportunity to meritorious students based on their outstanding performance in board examinations.

**Which courses are available for admission?**
According to the institute, students who have studied PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) subjects will be eligible for admission to any first-degree program offered by BITS. Meanwhile, students with a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) background will have the opportunity to secure admission to courses such as B.Pharm and B.E. in Environmental and Sustainable Development Engineering.

**Eligibility criteria**
To avail the benefits of this scheme, a candidate must have secured the highest aggregate percentage in their respective board's 2026 examination. The calculation of the aggregate percentage will include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology, along with other subjects required to pass Class 12. Even if any of these subjects are listed as optional or elective, their marks will still be included in the aggregate percentage calculation.

**Only official toppers are eligible**
The institute has clarified that admission benefits will be extended only to those students who have been officially declared 'first rank holders' by their respective boards. Applications will be accepted via the online mode.

**Selection process in case of a tie**
If more than one student jointly secures the first position on a board, BITS Pilani will grant admission to a maximum of four students under this scheme. However, if the number of students sharing the first position exceeds four, the institute will select eligible candidates based on its established selection criteria. The last date to apply is June 30, 2026, at 5 PM.
