The BPSC has postponed the online application process for the TRE 4.0 exam, which was scheduled to begin today. The Commission cited procedural changes as the reason for this decision. Meanwhile, no new dates have been announced yet.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has temporarily deferred the online application process for the TRE 4.0 teacher recruitment exam. Applications were originally scheduled to open today, September 1, 2026, but registration will not commence on the planned date. The Commission attributed the postponement to procedural changes and stated that new dates for the application process would be announced soon. It is worth noting that 32,388 teachers are to be recruited for schools in Bihar through the BPSC TRE 4.0 process.

No Announcement of New Dates Yet

The BPSC had previously announced that the application process for TRE 4.0 would begin today, September 1. However, the Commission has now issued a notice postponing the dates. Furthermore, no new dates have been announced so far. The Commission has stated that information regarding the new dates will be released shortly; consequently, candidates will have to wait for the updated schedule.

Recruitment for 32,388 Teacher Posts

Under TRE 4.0, appointments will be made for teaching positions across various levels of government schools in Bihar. The total of 32,388 vacancies is distributed across primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary levels. Specifically, the vacancies include 3,847 posts for primary teachers (Classes 1–5), 8,563 posts for teachers (Classes 6–8), 3,877 posts for secondary teachers (Classes 9–10), and 16,101 posts for higher secondary teachers (Classes 11–12).

Concerns Raised Regarding the Examination Process

Teacher aspirants in Bihar have previously raised various demands concerning the TRE 4.0 process. Candidates had voiced objections regarding the exam pattern, negative marking, and the recruitment procedure. A key demand was for the examination to be conducted in a single phase. Following discussions with the candidates, the Bihar government agreed to hold TRE 4.0 in a single phase. Now, with the postponement of the application process, candidates must await a new schedule to know the revised recruitment date.

Number of Vacancies May Increase

Currently, the BPSC has announced 32,388 vacancies for TRE 4.0. However, there is a possibility that the number of vacancies may change. Information has emerged that the Bihar government is adding 111 posts for music teachers. If these additional posts are included in TRE 4.0, the total number of vacancies will rise to 33,385.
