This result has cleared the way for the BPSC TRE 4.0 recruitment. Successful candidates will now be able to appear in TRE 4.0, but the question is, will passing STET directly make them teachers? The answer is no, this is only an eligibility test. The actual job will be secured by performing well in BPSC TRE 4.0, meaning you have to pass this exam to become a teacher.

How was the examination conducted?

The optional subject examination for the HSST category and the Higher Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test was held from October 14 to November 16, 2025. The exam was conducted at 23 centers in nine districts, including Patna. A total of 150 questions were asked, including 100 questions on the subject matter and 50 questions on teaching methodology and other topics. All questions were multiple-choice, and there was no negative marking for incorrect answers. The cut-off was set at 50 percent for the general category, 45.5 percent for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 42.5 percent for the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), and 40 percent for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST).

What happens after passing STET?
Passing the STET only grants eligibility. Now, the successful candidates can apply for the BPSC TRE 4.0. Only by scoring well in TRE 4.0 will they get a chance to become a government teacher. This result opens the way for TRE 4.0. Those who have passed should now start preparing for the TRE.
