Bihar School Holiday List 2026: Schools in Bihar will remain closed for 75 days; check the date-wise schedule here..

The Bihar Education Department has released the school holiday calendar for the year 2026. According to the Bihar School Holiday Calendar, schools across the state will have a total of 75 days of holidays. This includes 7 Sundays. Since a total of 10 Sundays fall within the holiday period, excluding Sundays, schools will be closed for a total of 65 days.

Long holidays during summer, Diwali, and Chhath Puja
For the information of students, parents, and teachers, summer vacations in Bihar will be for a total of 20 days. In addition, there will be 5 days of holidays for Durga Puja and a total of 10 days of holidays for Diwali and Chhath Puja. You can check the complete year's holiday dates in the table below. Important Information

The dates of Muslim festivals may change depending on the sighting of the moon.
All government/government-aided/project/upgraded primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools in the state will remain closed according to the above holiday calendar.

Annual Day, Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti will be celebrated in all schools. All students and teachers will be present during these celebrations. The school will be closed after the program.

During long vacations such as Summer Vacation (Serial No. 20), Diwali to Chhath Puja vacation period (Serial No. 35), and Winter Vacation (Serial No. 37), it will be mandatory for students to be given homework and project work for all subjects. It will be the responsibility of the teacher to evaluate this work upon the reopening of the school.
