Bihar: Receive ₹1 Lakh Upon Clearing the UPSC CSE Prelims—Are You Aware of This Bihar Government Scheme?

Bihar: The Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department of the Government of Bihar provides incentive amounts to candidates who achieve success in various competitive examinations. Under this scheme, permanent residents of Bihar belonging to the Extremely Backward Classes will receive financial assistance upon clearing the preliminary stage of various examinations.

According to a notification issued by the Department, candidates who achieve success in examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), as well as banking and other major recruitment exams, are provided with an incentive amount ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹1 lakh.

According to the Department, more than 9,100 candidates have benefited from this scheme so far.
Which examinations qualify for how much assistance?
Under this scheme, candidates who succeed in the Civil Services Examination will receive the highest assistance amount of ₹1 lakh. An amount of ₹75,000 each will be provided for the Indian Engineering Services, Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Service, and the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination.

Furthermore, candidates who succeed in the Combined Defence Services (CDS), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Deputy Superintendent of Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and National Defence Academy (NDA) examinations will receive an incentive amount of ₹50,000.

BPSC and SSC Examinations Also Included
Successful candidates in the Combined Competitive Examination and Preliminary Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission will also be awarded ₹50,000. Meanwhile, candidates who succeed in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Grade-B, Bank Probationary Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and the Staff Selection Commission's Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examinations will receive an assistance amount of ₹30,000. **Key Terms and Conditions of the Scheme**
The benefits of this scheme are available exclusively to permanent residents of Bihar belonging to the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC). The candidate must have successfully cleared the preliminary stage of the respective examination.

The Department has clarified that an applicant may avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme only once. Furthermore, if a candidate has previously availed the benefits of this scheme, their application will not be accepted again.
