Bihar Kendriya Vidyalaya: The reach of Kendriya Vidyalayas is set to expand for students in Bihar. The Central Government has approved the opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas in 18 districts of the state. Consequently, the Bihar government will provide the land needed to move forward with the construction of these schools. Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, stated that land has already been made available in 12 of the 18 districts, while land for the remaining 6 districts will be provided within the next few months.

The state government has accelerated the necessary procedures in this regard. Describing this as a significant step for Bihar's education system, the Minister noted that the opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas would provide students with better academic facilities and enhance the overall quality of education.

Land available in 12 districts; process underway for the rest

The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms has intensified efforts to make land available for the Kendriya Vidyalayas. Minister Dr. Dilip Jaiswal has instructed departmental officials and the administrations of the concerned districts to quickly finalize the selection of suitable land in areas where it has not yet been secured. He stated that the subsequent processes would be expedited in districts where land has already been identified, and the formalities for transferring land to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or the Education Department would soon be completed for the remaining 6 districts.

New Kendriya Vidyalayas to feature modern facilities

According to the government, special emphasis will be placed on modern educational facilities in the new Kendriya Vidyalayas. Schools will be equipped with smart classrooms, science and computer labs, and facilities like Atal Tinkering Labs to ensure students receive technology-based education. Additionally, large playgrounds and other essential infrastructure will be provided to promote sports activities.

Arrangements for 'Bal Vatika' to be introduced for the first time

A key feature of this new approval is the introduction of a three-year pre-primary level—known as 'Bal Vatika'—in these Kendriya Vidyalayas, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The initiative aims to provide quality education to young children right from the foundational stage. Currently, there are 1,288 Kendriya Vidyalayas operating across the country, including three located abroad, catering to lakhs of students. The Central Government has previously approved the expansion of Kendriya Vidyalayas, and under this new sanction, additional schools will be opened across several states.
