The wait is finally over for millions of students in Bihar. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has issued strict guidelines for the Intermediate (12th) examination 2026. The examination will be conducted between February 2nd and February 13th, 2026. This year, a total of 13,17,846 students will appear for the exam. Significantly, the number of female students is higher than that of male students this year as well, reflecting the changing educational landscape in the state.
According to the data, 6,75,844 female students and 6,42,002 male students will be appearing for the examination. The Bihar Board says that this time, even stricter measures will be taken to ensure that the examination is conducted in a completely fair and peaceful manner.
Zero Tolerance for Cheating
The Bihar Board has clearly stated that those caught cheating will not be spared under any circumstances. Strict vigilance will be maintained at the examination centers to prevent any student from using unfair means during the examination. The board claims that this time, "not even a bird will be able to fly" near the examination centers.
CCTV cameras have been installed at every examination center, and videographers have also been deployed. In addition, Section 163 will be enforced within a 200-meter radius of the examination center to prevent any kind of crowd or disorder during the examination.
Pay Close Attention to Time
The Bihar Board has given a special warning to students regarding the examination timings. If any student arrives late at the examination center, they will not be allowed entry. No second chance will be given after the gates are closed.
The first shift examination will begin at 9:30 AM. Students will be allowed to enter the examination center from 8:30 AM, but the gates will close at 9:00 AM. This means even a one-minute delay could be costly.
The second shift examination will be held one hour earlier than before. It will now start at 1 PM instead of 2 PM. Students will be allowed entry from 12 PM. The board has clearly stated that no exceptions will be made for those who fail to adhere to the timings.
Strict Punishment for Rule Violations
The Bihar Board has adopted a very strict stance on discipline. If any student attempts to force their way in after the gates close or tries to enter the examination center by climbing over the wall, an FIR will be registered against them. Furthermore, such a student will be barred from taking the examination for the next two years. The board says that such strict measures are necessary to maintain the sanctity of the examination. Any kind of indiscipline will not be tolerated.
Mobile Phones and Gadgets Strictly Prohibited
In the Bihar Board Examination 2026, carrying mobile phones or any electronic devices into the examination center is strictly prohibited. Students will be frisked twice. The first check will be at the gate, and the second before entering the classroom. Videography arrangements have also been made at the examination centers to monitor every activity. This will ensure that no student can violate the rules.
