The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to begin the Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations from February 2, 2026, across examination centres in the state. Ahead of the exams, the board has issued detailed and stringent guidelines for students, parents, centre superintendents, invigilators, and district administrations to ensure fair, transparent, and disturbance-free conduct of the examinations.

According to the latest instructions released by the board on Friday, strict security arrangements will be enforced at all exam centres. One of the most significant measures is the implementation of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) within a 200-metre radius of every examination centre. This provision aims to prevent crowding, maintain law and order, and curb any attempt at malpractice during the exams.

Section 163 to Remain in Force Near Exam Centres

To maintain peace and discipline, Section 163 will be strictly applicable within 200 metres of all examination venues. Under this rule, the gathering of unnecessary crowds and the presence of unauthorised individuals near exam centres will be completely prohibited. Local administration and police forces have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of this order throughout the examination period.

The board has made it clear that any violation of this restriction will invite immediate action. Parents, guardians, coaching staff, and other individuals will not be allowed to loiter near the exam premises.

Entry Only After Admit Card Verification

BSEB has also tightened entry protocols for candidates. Students will be allowed to enter the examination centre only after a thorough verification of their admit cards. The admit card details, including the photograph, will be matched with the official attendance sheet provided by the board to each centre.

Officials stated that every student has been issued a unique identification number, which will be used to verify their identity. Entry into the examination hall will be granted only after the photograph on the admit card matches the photograph on the attendance register. This step has been introduced to eliminate impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates appear for the exams.

Question Papers to Have Multiple Set Codes

To further strengthen examination integrity, the Bihar Board has confirmed that question papers for each subject will be issued in 10 different set codes. This arrangement is designed to reduce the risk of cheating and organised malpractice. Candidates are advised to carefully check the set code mentioned on their answer booklet and question paper before attempting the exam.

Two-Level Security Check for Candidates

All examinees will undergo two rounds of physical checking before being allowed to take their seats. The first security check will take place at the main gate of the examination centre, where magistrates and police personnel deputed at the venue will conduct the inspection. The second check will be carried out inside the examination hall by the invigilators.

After completing the inspection, invigilators will be required to submit a declaration confirming that the candidate has been properly checked. The board has warned that any student found violating examination rules or carrying prohibited items will face strict consequences, including registration of a criminal case and a ban from appearing in board examinations for up to two years.

Special Provisions for Divyang Candidates

The Bihar Board has also issued clear guidelines for candidates with disabilities. Divyang students who are unable to write on their own can request the department to provide a scribe. Additionally, eligible candidates are permitted to bring their own scribe, subject to existing rules and prior approval. The board has emphasized that these provisions are meant to ensure equal opportunities for all students.

Early Announcements and Enhanced Security Measures

All examination centres have been instructed to make announcements regarding entry procedures at least one hour before the scheduled exam time. Centres that lack proper boundary walls or are located near open areas such as ponds or overgrown land will receive additional police deployment.

The board has warned that any attempt to forcibly enter the centre by climbing walls or bypassing security arrangements will result in strict legal action.

CCTV Surveillance and Videography

To enhance monitoring, all examination centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras. In addition, the board has mandated the deployment of one videographer for every 500 candidates. This step is intended to ensure real-time surveillance and provide visual records in case of any disputes or allegations of malpractice.

With these comprehensive arrangements, the Bihar Board aims to conduct the Class 12 examinations in a fair, transparent, and secure manner. Students are advised to carefully follow all instructions, reach their centres well in advance, and cooperate with authorities to avoid any last-minute issues.
