Bihar 12th Board Result 2026: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) released the results for the 2026 Class 12 Board Examinations on Monday, March 23. This year, more than 1.3 million students appeared for the Class 12 board exams. Of these, over 1.1 million students have passed. Thus, the pass percentage stands at 85.19%; however, the other side of the coin is that approximately 200,000 students failed the Bihar Class 12 Board Exams in 2026. Similarly, there are many students who narrowly missed securing a First or Second Division due to a marginal shortfall in marks. The question now arises: how can students who failed or received low marks in the Bihar Class 12 Board Exams improve their results?

Let us explore this in detail. Let us understand what options are available to students who either failed or passed with low marks in the Bihar Class 12 Board Exams of 2026. Specifically, we will learn how they can go about improving their results.

BSEB 12th Result 2026: What to Do If You Fail?
If a student has failed the Bihar Class 12 Board Exams in 2026, the option to appear for the Compartmental Examination remains open to them. However, a student is permitted to take the Compartmental Examination in a limited number of subjects only. Specifically, the Bihar Board offers students the opportunity to appear for the Compartmental Examination in up to two subjects. If a student fails in more than the stipulated number of subjects, they are deemed to have failed the examination and are granted the opportunity to appear in the board exams scheduled for the following year. Conversely, students who have failed in two subjects can save their academic year by appearing for the compartment examination.

The Bihar Board conducts a separate application process specifically for the compartment examinations. A fee of approximately ₹120 per subject is applicable for this purpose. The compartment examinations are typically conducted during April and May. Additionally, if a student has secured low marks in any particular subject, they too are eligible to appear for the compartment examination.

Apply for Re-evaluation to Improve Marks
Regarding the Bihar Class 12 Board Exam 2026 results, if a student feels that they have received lower marks in a specific subject than expected—despite having attempted questions worth a higher score—such students may apply for re-evaluation. Detailed information regarding this procedure will be released following the official declaration of the results.
