Big news for students pursuing MBBS from abroad: registration process has begun; learn the process.
FMGE December 2025 Registration: NBEMS has opened registration for the FMGE December 2025, which will remain open until December 4, 2025. The exam will be held on January 17, 2026.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has begun the online registration process for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in December 2025. The registration window opened at 3 pm on November 14, 2025, and now all students across the country who have studied MBBS abroad and dream of becoming doctors in India can easily apply.
The last date for registration is December 4, 2025, at 11:55 pm. Candidates have a full 21 days. However, experts advise against waiting until the last minute, as technical difficulties often arise when uploading documents and paying fees.
The exam date has also been finalized. The FMGE December 2025 exam will be held on January 17, 2026, and the results will be declared by February 17, 2026. The next month will be crucial for students taking this exam. The FMGE is considered one of the toughest exams in the country, as past data indicates.
In the June 2025 session, 37,207 students applied, of whom 36,034 appeared for the exam, but only 6,707 passed. The pass percentage was a mere 18%, while the failure rate was over 81%. This is why every update and instruction regarding this exam is so important to students.
What are the necessary requirements?
Regarding the application requirements, NBEMS has kept the rules clear this time as well. Candidates must pass their final MBBS exam or equivalent degree on or before October 31, 2025. Students whose results or certificates are not available by the due date will have their applications rejected. Certification of medical degrees obtained abroad is also required.
This certification must be from either the Indian Embassy in the relevant country or an authorized authority in that country. Many times, students forget to upload these documents or submit them in the wrong format, resulting in their applications being rejected. Therefore, this time NBEMS has issued clear instructions to complete the form only after verifying all documents.
How to Register
Now, regarding the application process, NBEMS has kept it quite simple. Candidates must first visit the official website, natboard.edu.in. There, click on the FMGE December 2025 tab. The registration link will then open, where you'll need to create an account by entering your name, date of birth, email address, and other basic information.
Once registration is complete, candidates can fill out the main form. This includes personal information, educational qualifications, documents related to studying abroad, and uploading a photograph and signature.
