Regarding the decision to teach the Bhagavad Gita in all government schools in the state, CM Dhami said, 'The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred text that contains the knowledge given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna, which is useful for a person throughout his life if it is read carefully. We decided in the review meeting of the Education Department that the Gita will be taught in all the schools of the state and this process has started.'

Apart from this subject, he also spoke to the media about his meeting with the Prime Minister in Delhi and said, 'Since the Prime Minister came to power, many schemes like Char Dham Yatra, Adi Kailash Yatra, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra started for Uttarakhand. We have taken his guidance on all these and made it historic.'

What did the Education Minister say on teaching the Gita?

On the decision to teach the Gita in government schools, Uttarakhand Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat says, 'In a meeting of the Education Department, we have entrusted NCERT with the task of including the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana in the curriculum taught in 17,000 government schools in Uttarakhand. Till this is implemented, verses from Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana will be included in the daily prayer meetings in schools.'
