Apply for certificate courses at DU SOL by July 10; Russian language will now also be taught..

The Campus of Open Learning (COL), operating under the School of Open Learning (SOL) at Delhi University, has commenced the admission process for the new session for students interested in learning foreign languages. This year, students will have a wider range of options as the Russian language has been added to the course offerings. Additionally, certificate courses will now be available in both online and offline modes.

Interested candidates can apply online by the specified deadline. The university will conduct examinations and issue certificates, thereby enhancing the credibility and significance of these courses. Several new changes have also been introduced to facilitate a better learning experience for students.

**Inclusion of Russian Language**
Last year, certificate courses in eight foreign languages ​​were available to students: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese. This year, a Russian language course has been introduced alongside these. This course will be conducted in collaboration with the university's relevant department.

**Online and Offline Learning Modes**
For certificate courses, students now have the option to study in either online or offline mode. This will benefit working professionals and students residing in remote areas. However, diploma courses will continue to be conducted exclusively online, as before.

**Admission Process and Important Dates**
The application process for foreign language courses is entirely online. Interested candidates can apply via the designated portal by July 10. The final deadline for applications to these language courses is July 14. Admissions will be based on merit secured in the entrance examinations. Classes are expected to commence in September.

**Fee and Certificate Details**
According to Prof. Payal Mago, Director of SOL, Delhi University will conduct the examinations and issue certificates for all courses. For each certificate course, the fee structure includes a registration fee of ₹200, a course fee of ₹10,000, and an examination fee of ₹510. For diploma courses, the course fee is ₹15,000.
