Applications Open for UP Post-Matric Scholarship; Check Eligibility

The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the application process for the UP scholarship for the 2026-27 academic session. Eligible students enrolled in programs ranging from Classes 11 and 12 to graduation, post-graduation, diplomas, and other courses can apply for the post-matric scholarship. Applications can be submitted through the official website. Under this scheme, eligible students belonging to General, OBC, SC, ST, and minority categories receive benefits covering scholarships and fee payments. Additionally, there is a "Post-Matric Outside State" category option for students who are natives of Uttar Pradesh but are studying in other states.
Last Date for Post-Matric Scholarship Applications
According to the 2026-27 schedule, new applications for the post-matric scholarship can be submitted from September 15 to October 31. Meanwhile, the renewal application period for students already receiving the scholarship is set from September 15 to October 15, 2026. The process for printing forms for new applicants will run from September 16 to November 2. Document verification at the school or college level will take place from September 16 to November 4, and verification at the university level will occur from September 16 to November 25.
Who Can Apply?
Students who have passed Class 10 and are currently studying in Class 11 or 12 can apply for the post-matric (intermediate) scholarship. Students pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diplomas, or other programs after Class 12 will be eligible for the post-matric scholarship. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the student's institution must be registered on the UP scholarship portal. Applicants must also meet specific income limits prescribed for different categories.
What Should the Family Income Be? According to the eligibility criteria for the post-matric scholarship, the annual family income of students belonging to the General, OBC, and Minority categories must be up to ₹2 lakh. For SC and ST categories, this limit is set at ₹2.50 lakh. An income certificate is among the mandatory documents required for the scholarship.

How to fill out the UP scholarship form
To apply, first visit the official website: scholarship.up.gov.in.
Complete the OTR (One Time Registration) process there.
Next, register by selecting either the 'Fresh' or 'Renewal' option based on your category.
After logging in, fill in your personal and educational details.
Upload the necessary documents and submit the form.
Finally, students can check the status of their application in the 'Status' section of the portal.
