UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Engineering Services Exam 2026. The application process has begun.
Good news for engineering students and young people preparing for government jobs. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2026. The application process has also begun. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the Commission's official website, upsconline.nic.in.
Only candidates with a graduate degree in engineering are eligible to apply for this exam. Final-year students can also participate, but they must submit their degree certificate before the Mains exam or interview.
Age Limit
Candidates applying for this exam must be at least 21 years of age and at least 30 years of age. However, candidates from reserved categories will be given relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules.
Selection Process
The UPSC Engineering Services Examination is conducted in three stages. First, candidates must appear for the Prelims exam, which consists of objective-type questions. The second stage is the Mains exam, which consists of detailed subject-related questions. Finally, candidates who pass both exams are called for an interview or personality test. Candidates are appointed only after successfully completing these three stages.
Application Fee
General category and OBC candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹200 to apply for this exam. No fee will be charged for women candidates, SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates. Fees can be paid online only.
Exam Pattern
The Prelims exam will consist of two papers. The first paper will focus on general studies and engineering aptitude, while the second paper will focus on the candidate's engineering discipline. The Mains exam will consist of in-depth subject-related questions. After this, an interview will be conducted.
How to Apply?
First, candidates should visit upsconline.nic.in. Click on the "Examination Notices" section. Then, select the "Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026" link. Read the entire notification carefully and then click on "New Registration." Log in and fill in the remaining details. Upload your passport-size photo, signature, and other required documents. After selecting the exam center, pay the required fee and submit the form. Finally, take a printout and save it.
