BHU UG Admission 2026: If you wish to pursue an undergraduate course at BHU, here is a golden opportunity. Spot round counseling at BHU has commenced. Please register by August 24 to participate; the spot round offers a pathway for direct entry.

BHU UG Admission 2026: The admission process for undergraduate courses at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has reached its final phase. Admissions have been completed for approximately 98 percent of the university's seats; however, around 1,500 seats remain vacant. Consequently, spot round counseling is being conducted. Candidates who could not secure admission in previous counseling rounds can participate in this spot round to gain admission to BHU.

Another opportunity via the spot round

The university has initiated the registration process for the spot round, running from August 21 to August 24, 2026; today, August 22, marks the second day of registration. Following this, the seat allotment list for the first spot round will be released on August 25. If seats remain vacant after this, a second spot round may also be conducted.

List of vacant seats released on August 20

BHU released the status of vacant seats for the spot round on August 20. The university has stated that interested candidates may participate in the spot round after checking seat availability. Seat allotment will be based on merit and available vacancies.

Cut-off marks may vary

BHU has clarified that the cut-off for the spot round may differ from that of the regular rounds. This creates a possibility of admission for candidates whose scores fell slightly short of the cut-off in earlier rounds.

Classes to commence soon

The university has made preparations to begin undergraduate classes from the first week of September. Selected candidates will also have to complete the process of physical verification and document scrutiny. It is advised to keep the necessary documents ready in advance.
