The All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE 2026) for Classes 6 and 9 was conducted on January 18, 2026 (Sunday) at 464 centers across 190 cities in the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the provisional answer key. The answer key will be available online on the NTA's official website, exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/, from where students or their parents can download it by entering their login details.
Matching Answers with the Response Sheet
Along with the provisional answer key, the response sheet will also be made available. This will allow students to match their answers. If any student or their guardian is not satisfied with any answer, they can object to Rs. 100 per question.
The result will be based on the Final Answer Key.
The objections raised on the provisional answer key will be resolved by a team of experts constituted by the NTA, and the final answer key will be prepared. The students' results will be declared based on the final answer key. Students who qualify for the exam will be given admission to Sainik Schools.
How to Download the Provisional Answer Key
To download the Sainik School Entrance Exam 2026 answer key, first visit the official website exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society/.
On the website's homepage, click on the link related to the answer key in the Latest News section.
Then, on the new page, enter your application number, date of birth, and the given security pin.
After that, the answer key will open on the screen, from where you can download it and take a printout.
The exam was conducted in a single shift.
The NTA conducted the examination for both classes in a single shift. For Class 6, students are asked 125 multiple-choice questions, for which they are given 150 minutes. The timing was from 2 PM to 4:30 PM. For Class 9, students were asked 150 multiple-choice questions, for which they were given 180 minutes. The paper was conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM.
