Here's important news for Agniveer soldiers who dream of becoming permanent soldiers in the Indian Army. The Indian Army has introduced a new rule regarding the permanent appointment of Agniveer soldiers. According to this new rule, Agniveer soldiers cannot get married until they secure a permanent position. If an Agniveer marries before becoming a permanent soldier, they will not be eligible for permanent appointment and will not be able to apply for it.

So, when can they get married?
With this new rule, a question arises among Agniveers: when can they get married while still being eligible to become permanent soldiers? The simple answer is, after becoming a permanent soldier. However, Agniveers won't have to wait too long. They will only have to wait 4 to 6 months after completing their service as Agniveers.

2022 Batch of Agniveers to be discharged this year
The Agniveer scheme was launched in 2022.  Their four-year service will end in June/July 2026.  Therefore, 20,000 young people recruited in the first batch are now about to be discharged.

Out of these, 25 percent of Agniveers will be selected for permanent positions in the Army based on their physical fitness and performance in examinations.

To be selected, all of them will have to apply for permanent soldier positions, and this process may take 4 to 6 months.

Please note that Agniveer soldiers should not get married until the final list (results) for permanent soldier positions is released. Getting married during the process will disqualify you from becoming a permanent soldier. After being appointed to a permanent soldier position, Agniveers will be eligible to marry, and they can get married at any time after their appointment.
