After UPTET, now prepare for Super TET; find out how to become a primary or junior-level teacher..

For nearly six years, lakhs of aspirants in UP have been waiting for teacher recruitment. The 'Super TET' is conducted in UP for the recruitment of primary and junior-level teachers; it was last held in 2019. There is now an expectation that a notification for this recruitment drive could be issued before the assembly elections, especially since CM Yogi Adityanath has already announced the recruitment of 60,000 teachers. The results of the UP TET were released recently, with over 13 lakh candidates qualifying; consequently, all of them are now awaiting the teacher recruitment process. Today, we will explain what the Super TET—which follows the UP TET—entails and what its exam pattern is.

What is Super TET?
The Super TET is the examination conducted for the recruitment of assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh. Unlike the UP TET, which is merely an eligibility test, passing the Super TET leads directly to employment. Successful candidates get the opportunity to become teachers in primary and junior schools. The exam is conducted in two categories: Primary Super TET and Junior Super TET.

Eligibility Criteria for Application
For Primary Teachers (Classes 1–5)

Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in their Class 12 examinations.
Candidates must possess a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or have completed the BTC course.
Candidates are required to have qualified in CTET Paper-1 or UPTET.
Candidates with a B.Ed degree are excluded from recruitment at this level.

For Junior Teachers (Classes 6–8)

To appear for the Junior Super TET, candidates must hold a graduation degree.
In addition to graduation, a two-year D.El.Ed qualification is required.
Candidates who have completed a B.Ed program with 50% marks in graduation are also eligible to apply.
Candidates must have qualified in CTET Paper-2 or UPTET Paper-2.

What is the exam pattern? Previously, the Super TET was a 150-mark exam, though changes are likely this time around. Reports suggest the new pattern may consist of a 120-mark test, with each question carrying three marks. Additionally, the exam will include negative marking. While the minimum passing mark for the 2019 Super TET was 45%, the cut-off is expected to be significantly higher now. The exam pattern and syllabus will be released following the official recruitment notification.

Regarding the subjects, there will be no changes to areas such as languages, Mathematics, EVS, Current Affairs, Reasoning, and Computer knowledge; however, the marks allocated to these sections may be reduced. It is anticipated that the Super TET notification could be released this month.
