If you are going to appear in JEE Main this year, then the news is for you only. NTA has made a new rule for the students of JEE MAIN 2024. According to this rule, candidates appearing in the engineering entrance test JEE Main will now have to get searched again after the washroom break. This information has been given by a senior official of the National Testing Agency. The official said that candidates appearing for the engineering entrance test JEE Main will have to go through the process of frisking as well as biometric attendance again after taking a toilet break.
The rules will apply to everyone
The official further said that not only the students but also the officials, examiners, staff members, and those who help in serving refreshments will have to go through this process. NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said, “This step aims to ensure that there is not a single case of use of unfair means or disguised appearance. We already have strict systems in place, but we have to ensure that not even a single such incident happens.” Currently, candidates are checked at the entrance gate and biometric attendance is also recorded.
Will be applicable for other exams also
Singh then added, "The same process will be implemented for other examinations in future also." The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) is conducted by centrally funded institutes like the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). There is a test for admission in technical institutions. The top 20 per cent of the merit list become eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced), the entrance test of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). JEE (Main)-2024 will be conducted in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
