4-Year BSc Graduates Can Now Pursue M.Tech; Admission Available Without GATE Score..
Good news has emerged for students aspiring to build a career in the fields of technology and research. The pathways to higher education are now becoming more accessible and flexible than ever before. In particular, a new opportunity for M.Tech admission has opened up for students who have completed a 4-year B.Sc. program. This initiative will benefit those students who, until now, were unable to secure admission to M.Tech programs due to traditional eligibility norms.
Thanks to new courses and revised regulations, a greater number of students will now have the opportunity to advance in their academic pursuits. This change is set to come into effect from the 2026-27 academic session, thereby opening up new avenues for many students.
Launch of a New M.Tech Course
The institute has introduced a new course titled "M.Tech in Quantum Information Technology." This program will be administered under the Department of Applied Sciences. A total of 25 seats have been allocated for this course, and an official notification regarding the same has already been issued.
Admission Available Even Without GATE
The most distinctive feature of this course is that the GATE examination is not a mandatory requirement for admission. While priority will be accorded to students possessing a valid GATE score, candidates without a GATE score will also be eligible to apply should any seats remain vacant.
What is the Selection Process?
Students who do not possess a GATE score will be selected based on a screening test and an interview conducted by the institute. This provides an opportunity to those students who, for any reason, were unable to appear for the GATE exam or were unsuccessful in qualifying for it.
Additional Eligibility Criteria
To secure admission to this course, students must have studied Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 (intermediate) level. Furthermore, students holding a B.Tech, B.E., B.Sc., M.Sc., or an Integrated B.S.-M.S. degree are also eligible to apply.
Enhanced Career Opportunities
Through this new course, students will have the opportunity to engage in industry-relevant training, internships, and projects. This will not only enhance their practical understanding and skills but also pave the way for better job prospects in the future.
