4 new skill courses to start at DU; developed in collaboration with DSSEED..

Delhi University plans to prepare students for self-employment and startups, rather than limiting them to just earning a degree. With this objective, the Delhi School for Skill Enhancement and Entrepreneurship Development (DSSEED) has designed four new entrepreneurship-focused courses under the Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) framework. These proposals will be presented at the Academic Council meeting; once approved, they will be forwarded to the Executive Council (EC) for final ratification.

The aim of these courses is to foster an entrepreneurial mindset, provide an understanding of how to launch a startup, and enhance practical skills. Implementation will follow approval by the Academic Council. The new courses include 'Entrepreneurial Mindset and Opportunity Discovery,' 'Design Thinking and Venture Development,' 'Venture Business Design and Go-to-Market Strategy,' and 'Entrepreneurial Communication and Investor Pitching.'

**Students to Learn the Full Lifecycle of Startups and Business**
The university states that the objective of these courses goes beyond imparting mere theoretical knowledge of entrepreneurship. Students will be trained to identify new business opportunities, develop solutions to problems, create robust business models, and understand strategies for taking their products or services to market.

Additionally, they will receive practical training on effectively presenting ideas to investors, launching startups, and scaling businesses. This initiative aims to foster innovation and self-reliance among students.

**New Arabic and Persian Language Courses at SOL**
Expanding the scope of foreign language education, DU’s School of Open Learning (SOL) has also proposed launching certificate courses in Arabic and Persian. Instruction for these languages ​​will be provided through both online and offline modes. These languages ​​could prove particularly beneficial as an additional skill for students preparing for MBBS, healthcare, and medical studies. These courses are also expected to commence following approval by the Academic Council.
