1.3 Million Students' Wait Ends: JEE Main Answer Key and Response Sheet Released
JEE Main 2026: The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Session-1 has been released, and the agency has also made the response sheets available on the official website.
Today was a crucial day for approximately 1.3 million students across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key and response sheet for JEE Main 2026 Session-1. This ends the long wait for the students. Now, students can compare their answers with the correct answers to assess their performance.
JEE Main is one of the largest engineering entrance examinations in the country. It opens the doors to admissions in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other technical institutions. Therefore, the release of the answer key is very significant for the students.
Where and How to View the Answer Key
The NTA has uploaded the answer key and response sheet on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Students can log in using their application number and password. Upon logging in, their response sheet and answer key will be displayed on the screen. The response sheet shows the options selected by the student for each question in the exam, while the answer key provides the correct answer for each question. By comparing both, students can calculate their probable scores.
Opportunity to Raise Objections
Along with the release of the answer key, the NTA has also given students the opportunity to raise objections. If a student feels that the answer to any question is incorrect, they can raise an objection. According to the NTA, students can raise objections to the provisional answer key from February 4th to February 6th. A fee of Rs. 200 will be charged for raising an objection to each question. This process is entirely online.
What the NTA Said
The NTA has clarified that all objections raised by the students will be reviewed by subject experts. The final answer key, prepared after the review process, will be the basis for declaring the results. The NTA has also stated that no student will be individually informed whether their objection has been accepted or not. The final answer key will be valid for all students.
When was the exam held?
The JEE Main 2026 Session-1 exam was conducted between January 21 and January 29, 2026. This was a computer-based test and was conducted in two shifts. The morning shift was from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the second shift was from 3 PM to 6 PM. Students appeared for this exam for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses.
