The wait is finally over for students awaiting their CBSE Class 12 results. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the Class 12 results for 2026 today, May 13. Students can check their results directly via the official website, DigiLocker, UMANG, SMS, or by making a phone call.
**Data Released Alongside Results**
The pass percentage for the CBSE Class 12 examination this year stands at 85.20%, which is lower than that of the previous year (88.39%). A total of 1,507,109 students successfully cleared the Class 12 examination. Compared to the previous year, this figure represents a decline of 3.19%. Last year, 1,496,307 students had passed.
Once again this year, girls have outperformed boys. This year, 88.86% of female students and 82.13% of male students passed the examination. Thus, female students have taken the lead with a margin of 6.73%.
Officials stated that over 1.7 million students had registered for the examination this year, of whom more than 1.5 million were successful. Notably, for the first time, the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system was made mandatory for the evaluation process this year.

Following the release of the CBSE Class 12 results, students can check their outcomes through both online and offline channels. The results can be checked via six methods, which are as follows:

**Securing 33% Marks in All Subjects is Mandatory to Pass**
To pass the CBSE Board examinations, it is mandatory to secure a total of 33% marks in all subjects. These marks must be obtained separately in the practical and theory components. However, if a student fails in one or two subjects in the Board examination, they can appear for the Compartment Examination to pass the exam within the same academic year, thereby saving their year. Applications for the Compartment Examination will be accepted after the results are declared. The examinations are scheduled to be conducted in June.
