DU Admission 2026: The admission process for the academic session at Delhi University will conclude entirely by August 31. Consequently, if a student withdraws their admission by this deadline, they will receive a 100% fee refund. However, withdrawal, processing, and registration fees will not be refunded. If admission is withdrawn within 30 days of the final admission date, only 50% of the fee will be refunded.

DU has issued a notice regarding fee refunds prior to the conclusion of the admission process. It states that students admitted for the 2026-27 academic session who wish to withdraw will receive a 100% refund if they do so by the final admission date. A 50% refund applies if admission is withdrawn within 30 days of the final admission date. No refund will be issued if admission is withdrawn after this 30-day period.

Fees will not be refunded if admission is cancelled due to the submission of incorrect information, concealment of facts, or submission of forged certificates. In the event of a student's death, 100% of the fees for the relevant semester or year—including examination fees—will be refunded to their parents or legal guardian. Separate provisions apply to PhD students: a 100% refund is granted for withdrawal by the final admission date of the relevant stage, a 50% refund for withdrawal within 15 days of that date, and no refund for withdrawal after 15 days. Approval from the Head of the Department is required for PhD fee refunds.

Last chance today to accept undergraduate seats at DU
Today is the last opportunity to accept seats allocated under the 'spot round' initiated to fill vacant undergraduate seats across various programs at Delhi University (DU). Students can accept their allocated seats until Thursday, while fee payments to confirm the seats can be made until August 29. DU had launched the spot round on August 23 to fill 13,400 vacant undergraduate seats. According to DU Dean of Admissions Prof. Haneet Gandhi, 22,241 registrations were received for these vacant seats.

Based on this, DU has allocated 5,646 seats. Students now have a final opportunity for admission; the admission process will conclude definitively on August 31. If seats remain vacant even after this spot round, no further admissions will take place. The first round of seat allocation began in July, yet seats for various programs in many colleges remain unfilled. Consequently, successive rounds are being conducted. Meanwhile, to fill the seats, more than 15 colleges have been granted permission to admit students based on Class 12 marks. This admission process differs from DU's standard procedure; however, colleges have been instructed to admit students using both CUET-allocated seats and Class 12 marks.
